Main Waterbury, Vt. 05676, or the First Congregational Church of Essex Junction, 39 Main Essex Junction, Vt. 05452. JOHN HENRY JACQUES WINOOSKI John Henry Jacques of Winooski died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
He was recovering from surgery when complications overcame him. John had a passion for antique cars and airplanes. He served as an antique car judge at many exhibitions. He spent many hours driving his 1941 Ford that he had restored, on short trips in the country. He loved fishing, tracking animals, the woods, and snowmobiling.
He was a member of the Iroquois Sno-Beavers for several years. He was born in Starksboro on June 17, 1930, to the late Fredrick and Julia (Quirk) Jacques. He was educated in the Huntington school and was a graduate of Burlington High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
he was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, from 1953 to 1955. He served fulltime as an aircraft inspection chief in the Vermont Air National Guard from 1955 until his retirement in 1985. He was active in the Boy Scouts, as the Scoutmaster 98 in Winooserving, Ski for several years. He was also active in the Vermont Civil Air Patrol, serving as a wing staff officer in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a member of the Regular Veterans Association, Post 514, Winooski; and American Legion Post 2, Burlington.
He as married to the former Janine Barber in August 1955. She predeceased him in 1999. He is survived by his son, Douglas J. Jacques and his wife, Yong; and three granddaughters, who were his pride and joy, Kimberly, Stephanie Brittany, of Sierra Vista, Ariz. He leaves his sisters, Harriet (Curavoo) of Colchester and Micki (Ketcham) of Hinesburg; and brother Donald of Charlotte.
He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his many good friends from morning coffee gatherings, especial- George, had a son, Tristan Emmet, Nov. 4 at FAHC. Donald "Don" LeBlanc, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 12, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born April 28, 1925, in Burlington, son of the late William Ovila and Ida (Viens) LeBlanc. Don served his country as an enlistee in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Sumner from 1943-1046.
Nov. 30, 1946, Don married Corrine Curtis and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. After working for local businesses, he joined the Burlington Fire Department in 1949, where he was a firefighter, progressing through the ranks assistant chief and finally serving as acting chief until his retirement in 1983 after 34 years of service. During these years, he owned a business and was a home builder in the greater Burlington area. Don enjoyed building homes, living in them and moving more than 15 times in his lifetime.
During his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending winters in their home and summers in Vermont, golfing with his friends. Don is survived by his wife, Corrine (Curtis) LeBlanc of Williston; two daughters, Diann Varricchione and her husband, David, Williston, and Lynn Tomko of Essex Junction; two sons, Chris LeBlanc his wife, Maryann, of Colchester, Jay LeBlanc and his wife, Joy, of Isle La Motte. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Christy Casey and her husband, Dan, Meghan, Ashley, Sarah, Eric and Nichole LeBlanc, Michael Tomko and his wife, Stacy, Melissa Tomko and their father, Mike; and a great-grandchild Aiden Paquette. Don is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Polly Curtis of Eustis; sisters Rita Willette, Marcella Gilmond, and Peggy Cadieux. He was predeceased by his brothers, Wilfred Le-Blanc, Leo White, and Norman LeBlanc, and sisters Leona Viau, Dorothy Menty, Patricia Courcy, and Elaine Audette.

ALMA MARIA BIANCHI FISHER BARRE CITY Alma Maria Bianchi Fisher, formerly of Lincoln House, completed this life's journey Dec. 13, 2003, in the Woodridge Nursing Home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born Jan.
30, 1912, in Luvinate (Varese), Italy, the daughter of Pietro and Genoeffa (Aimini) Bianchi. In August 1912, she immigrated to the United States. She took great pride in her Italian heritage. Alma attended local Barre schools and graduated from Goddard Seminary. June 11, 1931, she married Leo J.
Fisher, and they made their home in Barre. They had three children. Mr. Fisher passed away April 25, 1972. Alma was an employee of Montgomery Ward and Gladstone Shoes for more than 25 years.

LAURENCE C. HOLLAND ORMOND BEACH, Fla. Laurence C. Holland, 80, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, in Halifax Medical Center in Ormand Beach.
He was born in Northfield, on June 11, 1923, son of the late Sheriff John M. Holland and Alice Cain Holland. He graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre, Class of 1941. For a number of years, Laurence was manager of Flint Lumber Co. in Barre.
He later worked for a number of years for the state of Vermont in the division of licensing for daycare centers and nursing homes. He retired in 1986. He is survived by his brothers, the Rev. Francis M. Holland of Burlington, Daniel J.
Holland of Beverly Hills, and a sister, Mary C. Holland of Ormond Beach; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and greatnephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Timothy C. Holland and John E. Holland.
His funeral will be held in Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004. A memorial Mass will be held Jan. 10, in St. Mark parish in Burlington at 11 a.m.

12, 2003, in Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Marshfield, the daughter of Jesse Gardner and Ellen Odell Gardner. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Gardner Barnett of South Burlington; her niece and her husband, Rebecca E. (Barnett) and J.
Dearold Bressette of Barre; her grandnephew, Troy J. Bressette of Boston, and her greatniece, Amy L. Bressette of Barre. Also surviving are her cousins, Bernard Odell of Connecticut, Kendall Odell of Strafford, and Elmer and Elaine Brown of South Barre. She attended schools in Barre and Cabot and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1943 with a bachelor's degree in education.
She later went on to receive her master's degree in administration and supervision in 1959. Beryle was a lifelong advocate for children (her kiddos, as she called them), especially those with special education needs. She began her career teaching first grade in Newport, went on to serve as principal for the town of Colchester and then moved to the administrative offices of the Chittenden Central School District, where she served as the district's special education coordinator until her retirement in 1986, after 43 years of dedication to the field of education. Beryle belonged to many professional and service organizations in which she played active leadership roles and was awarded multiple times for her tireless dedication. Her memberships included Alpha Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma, both in which she served as chapter president and state president.
She was a member of the Chittenden Retired Teachers Association, Vermont Retired Teachers Association, RSVP, and the First Congregational Church of Essex Junction. She served on the boards for Champlain Vocational Services (formerly known as Champlain Sheltered Workshop), Chittenden County Correctional Center, and the State Task Force on Education in Corrections. In 1990, Beryle received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Burlington Rotary Club for her outstanding volunteer service. In 1997, she was the recipient of the Alpha Lambda State Achievement award. In addition to her numerous volunteer activities, Beryle enjoyed her little Pomeranian, Holly, collecting Hummels, organizing, traveling, dining out, corresponding with friends, and time spent with her family.
She held her nieces and nephew near and dear to her heart and played an important part in their lives. She will be sadly missed by her family, her A Darling Hill Road, Newport (formerly Sias Avenue), with the Rev. David Lisner officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service Tuesday.
Spring interment will be held in Waterville Mountain View Cemetery. The readings were proclaimed by Joanie's nephew, Thomas Kane and granddaughter, Melissa Kinkoph. The offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters Caroline Rose, Emily Thayer and Delcinea Thayer.
